OUR CORE VALUES
GRACE - We value God’s grace, the unmerited and undeserved love towards us in his son Jesus Christ through whom in faith we find salvation and eternal life. All who come here are valued and will find a safe place in God’s grace. We acknowledge God’s forgiveness and presence in our lives. Having been shown mercy we forgive, showing mercy to others, and becoming instruments of God’s grace.
DISCIPLESHIP - We value our opportunity under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to study and learn about God as revealed in the Bible and to share what we learn with others. We value the reality that Christianity is a lifelong faith journey of learning and teaching, study and application of God’s Word for all ages, during which we grow in our understanding of who God is; God’s purpose for our lives, and the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, our example.
DIVERSITY - We value people, the participation of children and youth, and the enormous God-given potential that can be experienced by everyone in the openness of this community of faith. We value human diversity because God created a diverse world of unique individuals and we respond to that diversity through love.
WORSHIP - We value worship as a time to gather in Jesus’ name to share our faith, to communicate our love and gratitude for all that God is and all that he does for us through music, prayer, praise, and Communion. We value worship as a time for renewal, direction, reassurance, and promise so that we might live our lives more fully.
FELLOWSHIP - We value our common love of God and of each other in the fellowship of the church family to share, celebrate, support, protect, and nurture each other. In welcome, openness, and togetherness, we are loved, we find refuge and safety, we are comforted and encouraged, and we are helped up, held up, and lifted up as we live out our faith.
OUTREACH - We value the opportunity to be a strong Christian presence in our local community through music, ministry, and service; so that our faith may help others interpret and apply God’s Word to daily life. We value the freedom that enables us to embrace new ideas and apply new ways to spread the Good News and to grow stronger in our faith.
PRAYER - We value prayer because in the name of Jesus Christ we have a means of direct, reverent, and trusting communication with our real and personal God who is always there.
STEWARDSHIP - We are of value to God, our families are of value to God, others are of value to God, and the natural world is of value to God, therefore, we value all of God’s creation. It matters how I take care of myself, my family, others, and the natural world. We value stewardship as our opportunity to accept the custodial responsibility God has given to us to serve the world’s people through our time, resources, and Christian ministries.
